One of the first practical accessories for D&D, meaning that it wasn’t a rule book, but something you could actually use to construct dungeons as a DM. This collection of printed modules for building a Dungeon are quite fun, and an idea which is still in use in some way or another.

You can trace a straight line from this to stuff like the recent D&D Campaign Case: Terrain, modular accessories which can be put together to create a map for your players. There are a couple of pages with instructions on how to do it.

  1. Never had the budget for these as a kid. We would often resort to drawing our own graph paper in the backs of school notebooks. I think a lot of younger folks these days don’t realize that graph paper was tricky to come by back then.
