A refreshingly different gamebook, this one as you can see from both the title and the cover, involves lycanthropy and you get to play a central character who starts off as a cursed man-beast and must then find the cure for their predicament.

This would have been a great opportunity to set the tale in demiplane of dread more famously known as Ravenloft, but the whole idea of having that setting as the place for all kinds of classic horror monsters would still be in the future of the game.

As it is, it’s still a good game with some nice branching storylines which add to the game’s replayability and enough of a unique take to make it stand-out from other books in the series. The interior illustrations by Stephen Fabian are also fantastic and in post 519.1 we will take a closer look at them.
