Although the Jeff Easley cover for this module is a bit lacklustre, there is something that immediately marks this module out as special, right at the top you can see that this is an adventure for characters levels 0-1! What does that mean?

In a module start which will become almost clichè for RPG games of the future, your party starts out as slaves on a ship, you aren’t fighters, mages or thieves, just shackled up property to be sold, as the ship is wrecked on a lost island characters will develop skills and the DM has to track players decisions and actions in order to eventually graduate them to first level as being a part of a class and also their alignment.

This feels a bit like a proto-Elder Scrolls type of character advancement, and it is a bit like that. The more your characters use a skill the more likely they are to level up to that class rather than having the players decide beforehand what they want to be. An innovative bit of mechanics which can be a lot of fun with the right DM and group.
