The first new TSR publication since Polyhedron started coming out in 1981, Dungeon magazine is exclusively dedicated to providing adventure modules to players of (A)D&D. While Dragon will keep going, focusing on articles about gaming, the idea behind Dungeon was to print reader submitted adventure modules.

Unlike Dragon, Dungeon focuses solely on Dungeons and Dragons, and in this issue at least, specifically on the Advanced version of the game, of the six adventures published this issue only one is for the BECMI system, while 5 are for AD&D.

In the next numbered post I’ll show the first page of each of the six modules, but today I’m sharing the letters pages because they are pretty good at explaining, through editor Roger E. Moore’s answers, the logic and process behind the creation, naming and philosophy behind this new magazine. Get comfortable with Dungeon, as it will be with us, in one shape or another, all the way to 2013.
