As is usually the case, Polyhedron is a bit of a flimsy affair, when compared to the other big TSR publication at the time, Dragon. Seeing as Dungeon magazine is just around the corner, Polyhedron will become even less relevant for the general readers as what really made it good were the adventure modules that came bundled with it. 

However, as the magazine was dedicated to the competitive side of the game, it was always going to have a narrower appeal, and as something that you got for free with your RPGA membership, I suppose it’s perfectly acceptable.  There are always at least a couple of interesting articles, and this issue is no exception.

Next post I’ll show some pages from the Jeff Grubb adventure module, but other than that there are good articles on how to make Fighters more interesting and making new types of golems, as well as a kind of “demographic study” on what classes people most play. The cover illustration refers to the article Nienna & Friends, a part of the “New Rogues Gallery” sections which gives DMs a bunch of cool NPCs for them to use in their campaigns.
