The first of these boxed gamebooks to be written by someone who is not James Ward, this one, unlike most of the other books in the series, does not pit player against players, but is more of a collaborative affair.

I have not been able to read or even leaf through it, and according to Demian at gamebooks.org, it seems to be kind of a dull book with some dead ends that don’t make it particularly enjoyable.

You and a friend play as Garth, a Master of the North Wind (some kind of Monk, I suppose) and Uthrac a Barbarian and you are both on a quest to find the titular sword.
