A cool cover and a magazine full of interesting content, this is also an issue that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the magazine which started all the way back in 1976 during the infancy of Dungeons & Dragons.

In terms of content this is a particularly relevant magazine if you are into Ed Greenwood’s Forgotten Realms, it introduces a new lore element which will be influential down to our days, by giving us a whole article on the Cult of the Dragon, these guys who go around Faerun attempting to create Dracoliches. Also this is the article where you first get Dracoliches. What now seems like a concept which has been with us forever, the idea of a reanimated bone-dragon comes from here.

Another article by Greenwood gives us further details about a character which has long been a staple of the magazine: the sage Elminster. A long article, including character stats, details the life of Elminster (at least as much as he wants to tell us at this time). Otherwise there is some cool stuff on the Norse Pantheon, a great article on using computers for D&D gaming as well as an awesome splash page for Trampier’s Wormy. Stay tuned for some images of that in a future post!
