Welcome to May! Well, May of 36 years ago in 1986, a month chock-full of content in contrast to the quite thin month of April which only saw two entries on this list, the regular issue of Dragon and one module. This month, however, we have modules and supermodules, gamebooks and novels, magazines and magazine compilations, a veritable cornucopia of content.

As always we start a new month off by covering the issue of Dragon, and this time we get another classic cover, by new cover artist Daniel Horne, and a bunch of articles on how to personalise player characters. We also get an example of a personalised character, the Barbarian Cleric, being the Cleric of a Barbarian tribe, something which makes complete sense.

We also get plenty of more Roleplay oriented material, such as an article on the social structure of Dwarven societies and the ecology of the iconic Displacer Beast. We also get articles on how to modify the english language so it sounds more fantasyesque, articles on magical swords and giant weapons as well as new creatures for the D&D universe, such as half-satyrs and half-dryads. The profile section gives us profiles on legendary artist Jeff Easley and TSR Art Director Ruth Hoyer (one of the handful of women working in the company at the time).
