The second module in the M bit of BECMI (Master level) this module tells the story of an immortal, the titular Alphaks who comes back to the world of Mystara to take his revenge on humanity. The high level party of players (levels 28-32) has to foil his plans and in the process participate in a battle for the whole of Norwold.

With a cool cover by Jeff Easley showing off the new “monster” Pegataur (not centaurs named Peggy or into pegging, but centaurs who are mixed with Pegasi and therefore can fly), it’s also written by legendary game developer Skip Williams, one of those people who were there right from the start, being a school colleague of Ernie Gygax (one of Gary’s sons) and therefore being part of test play from the start, he would end up being on of the most important figures in the development of third edition and would soon be taking over the Sage Advice column in Dragon (in 1987) which he would be writing for until 2004!

As an adventure it’s a suitably epic affair, for characters of such high levels, however this also makes it one of those adventures that was probably seldomly played as only the most dedicated of adventurers would take characters up to the high 20s and beyond.
