April 1986 is a pretty short month for us here in terms of D&D stuff, with only this issue of Dragon and 1 adventure module for the whole month, slim pickings and unfortunately this issue isn’t the most fun for D&D players.

Being April this was supposed to be the annual joke issue, celebrating April Fools day, but we immediately get in Kim Mohan’s editorial a disclaimer that there won’t be any fun and games this year, because last year’s joke was badly interpreted by readers and they are still getting letters about the jokes from people who didn’t get the jokes. Oh well.

There are some things worth the price of admission here, however, such as Cantrips for Clerics, articles on using weather in the game and creating more monster variety can also be useful. But the real highlight here is the classic Elmore cover for this issue.
