We get to September and the Cartoon is back! In a short, truncated last season which will only include 6 episodes and we start off with another episode by prolific D&D cartoon writer Michael Reeves.

In this episode we get to see an evil greater than Venger or Tiamat when the party opens the Box of Balefire, which much like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction (or in Kiss Me Deadly, the film that Tarantino got that idea from) the box has a mysterious glow when opened and we never find out exactly what it is, but we do find out that it works as a beacon. A beacon for what? For a nameless evil, what seems to be the concept of evil itself, that exists in many worlds and who is the boss of Venger, who is basically soiling his pants when he finds out that it is coming.

Evil comes like a great column of fire consuming everything in its way and the powers of Venger and Dungeon Master are diminished. They must go down into the heart of the world to recover their powers and join together to defeat the Evil. The ending is a bit anticlimactic, but maybe it’s setting us up for something (if they get the chance to do it). Anyway, fun episode!
