The April issue of the British counterpart to Dragon Magazine focuses heavily on the Far East, as can be guessed from the Japan inspired cover. The far east includes, of course, more obvious countries like China and Japan, but also less explored countries and cultures like those of the Philippines and Indonesia which this issue explores.

The main contributor to this issue is Graeme Davis, who contributes three articles in all. The first of these explores Philippine mythology giving us AD&D stats for mythological creatures from that area of the world, while the second article gives us bujutsu rules for AD&D and a third explores Indonesian weapons. As you can see in the table of contents there are plenty of other articles exploring ideas from East Asia which can be applied to TTRPG games.

The mini module that comes bundled with the magazine also explores this theme and it is a dual module which can be used both with AD&D and with the Asian themed TTRPG Bushido. There are also the regular columns, a particularly good one come from Don Turnbull who explores the meaning behind the adventure module codes in D&D and AD&D.
