Another issue of Imagine magazine and another thematic one. This time the theme as can be seen from the cover is Thieves, and the content reflects that with a bunch of articles about rogues and roguery.

Thematic articles include Criminal Negligence that looks at the thief character class in D&D, as well as a long article on Thieves Guilds and how to develop them for your game. Interestingly, and rarely enough for the time, both these articles are written by women players, Kerry Bateman and Venetia Lee, respectively. Good on them and on Imagine.

The Pelinore setting also brings us more Thief related content by giving us details on The Old Bastion, a Thieves’ Safe House for the Imagine Magazine D&D setting, as well as details on the Thieves’ Guild. Other articles include a guide on cons that your characters can play on NPCs or other characters in game by Chris Felton and a mini adventure module specifically for thieves. The fiction this issue is also worth noting as it is an early Neil Gaiman piece, which also fits the Rogueish bill, with How to Sell the Ponti Bridge, his second story in Imagine after Featherquest in 1984, which was his first ever published story.
