A short series of gamebooks, composed of only 4 releases, all in 1985, this series has 3 of the 4 volumes set in a D&D-like world, although unlike the Super Endless Quest books this world is never matched to an actual official setting.
The idea behind these adventures is there in the title, it uses a “Crimson Crystal” which in fact is just a piece of red-cellophane, an innovation that they had already tried in 1984’s Midnight on Dagger Alley, in which you have to look at images through the red plastic in order to reveal things hidden in the images that accompany the adventure.
Of the three D&D Crimson Crystal Adventures I only have access to one of them, which unfortunately is not this one. So I can’t really say much about the content but I advise you to look at the entry for it in gamebooks.org where there are some reviews of the interior (the consensus seems to be that it’s not great, but it’s ok). I leave you with the cool cover by Keith Parkinson.
