We come to the last month of 1984 with the last issue of Dragon for the year. In a first ever event Dragon shares the theme of Clerics player characters with the Imagine magazine put out by TSR UK last month. Some different articles by different authors but sharing one of the articles and sharing the same themes. How to play and roleplay clerics in D&D and AD&D.

The cleric themed articles are authored by Gary Gygax and Bruce Barber, and for the first time there is an article from November’s Imagine reprinted here, First Spread the Faith by Paul Vernon is nothing more than Clerics are People Too from last month’s Imagine magazine. A pretty big nod to Imagine, although it would have been nice if Dragon had acknowledged the reprint, maybe that would have allowed Imagine to survive a bit longer.

Other interesting articles include two Ed Greenwood contributions, one on the Ecology of Ettins and another on magical books, the third entry in Elminster’s reports from the Forgotten Realms’ grimoires. There’s also the usual D&D module, this one entitled The Sword of Justice.
