Oof… that’s some kind of cover. Usually at the top of any internet article on “problematic D&D products” this UK module is particularly cringe-inducing in 2023. We can take some solace in the fact that the green skinned creatures on the cover are not supposed to be human, but Kara-Kara, distant relatives of orc.

However this might be even worse because their culture seems to be informed by racist conceptions of Polynesian cultures such as the Maori, which kind of ends up dehumanising those people… not better then. There is really no excuse for this module.

Putting that aside for a moment, this is, as is usual with Expert D&D adventures, mainly a wilderness adventure, as the crew is hired to kill the leader of the Kara-Kara, a pig-looking man who has organized them into a formidable force. The party travels to the island, finds the entrance to the lair caves and defeats the leader. That’s basically it. There’s a couple of good interior art pieces in the module though.
