The second (and last) of the Conan modules for first edition AD&D, this one is for relatively high level characters (10 to 14) and is, as such, set during the later years of Conan’s career, when he has established himself as king of Aquilonia.

This uses regular AD&D rules, but much like CB1 it adds some extra tidbits to attempt to capture an hyborian feel to the adventure. There are, for example, no clerics here, making the game harder in terms of healing, but to compensate there is an enhanced recovery system. There are also systems for Heroism, Fear and Luck all of which add to the Howardian sword and sorcery feel of the module.

Also adding to this feel, is the fact that you get to go after and eventually fight one of the great iconic villains of the Conan stories, the wizard Thoth-Amon, going through a bunch of “episodes”, kind of one-shot adventures, to get to him. On the way you get to fight plenty of snake-themed enemies, but the story is unfortunately a bit railroady and makes little sense if the party is not using the pre-generated characters of Conan and Friends.
