Imagine magazine, the TSR UK official publication has been lacklustre right from the start, in the last few numbers, as it is making a move to a wider distribution, it has announced efforts to “get better” and even if this was not noticeable in the last few issues, it certainly is in this one.

With more and better original articles, covering more interesting subjects and a vast improvement in interior illustrations, this actually feels like a step forward for the magazine, unfortunately it might come too late to make it sustainable in the long run (I have a crystal ball that tells me the magazine won’t survive 1985).

The magazine opens with a good example of one of these new articles with a long, well illustrated article, on the importance of weather, terrain and climate in TTRPGs. It also includes two mini adventures, one of which can be used both in D&D Basic or Tunnels and Trolls and also a good article on how to enchant items. It still contains a robust review section, for movies, games and books which is probably one of the strongest points of the magazine. Still not a great magazine, it’s definitely improved!
