This is a really beautiful picture book, one of two that came out in 1983, using characters from the toy line like Warduke and Kelek, this is full of really beautiful art by veteran Earl Norem. Really classic picture book drawings with an old timey feel.

You might ask who this “Bob Stine” is who wrote these books? Well, he’s no less than R. L. Stine before Goosebumps fame, probably one of the best selling authors of all time, he started modestly with these and other writing jobs for hire. By 1989 he would start his YA series Fear Street, by 1992 his younger readers’ horror series Goosebumps and the rest is history.

Truly beautiful books, with a simple but engaging story, these are some of my favourite toyline related works that we’ve had until now. Really worth tracking down for any fan of these characters.
