Imagine magazine continues being very much a low-tier TSR product, without really improving much since its inception, there are some interesting articles here, but there is clearly a tiny budget without much concern for art or presentation, with covers which are usually reusing art from book covers and so forth.

The big highlight of this issue is the reprint of the Gygax Cantrip articles from Dragon magazine numbers 59, 60 and 61. The fact that the highlight is a reprint from another magazine says much, but the truth is that this was Imagine’s main purpose, to be the UKs equivalent to Dragon, which was the premier TSR publication.

There are other articles here, however, like The Adventures of Nic Novice, a newly refurbished column which used to be The Beginner’s Guide to Roleplaying Games, and which now gives reports of an adventure with DM and players saying what they do, to give new players an idea about how games are supposed to go. There’s also a good article on how to roleplay magical classes, a fun mini-module and the other usual columns and comics of mixed quality.
