TSR UK produced a number of product, most famous of which was The Fiend Folio, but also magazines like Imagine and modules like this one and the Saltmarsh ones. The Sentinel is really the first half of a complete adventure, which will continue with UK3: The Gauntlet, and the whole adventure in this module actually ends just as the characters understand what is really at stake and sets them up for the next module.

Using a lot of monsters from the Fiend Folio (always be hustlin’ TSR UK!) you start off by investigating murders by suspected Skulks, then tangling with some Xvarts and eventually learning that the whole thing (SPOILER) is actually a plot by a good sentient glove, The Sentinel, for worthy characters to pick it up so it can defeat the recently awoken Gauntlet, and evil sentient glove. As you can imagine, the hunt for the Gauntlet will be the plot of the next module.

As a module it has a lot of story and location background, which is great, but it’s visually a bit of a throwback. The illustrations are particularly crude, but they do have a grotesque quality that somehow works for me. Sometimes I like ugly.
