With an awesome cover and an editorial by Kim Daniel about the position of women in the gaming hobby, how she feels excluded from the hobby but ending up with the tongue in cheek conclusion that men are just afraid of being beaten by women on yet another thing, issue 5 of Imagine is dedicated mostly to Celitc and related subjects.

The theme of this issue is centred around the reprint of Gygax’s article for Dragon #71 about new official Druid spells. However, even if this is not an original article, it’s surrounded by a couple of interesting articles by UK writers which help flesh out the Celtic cultures from which Druids arose.

Chris Black gives a historical background of Druids, Carole Morris gives us an article about Lore, Lay and Legend focused on Celtic myth underlying much of fantasy, and even the mini adventure module that comes packaged with the magazine has a Celtic theme, The Taking of Siandabhair. All in all the magazine is improving steadily from a shaky start, with improved illustrations and better articles. It also keeps being a good source for reviews of TSR adventure modules and other products.
