The second issue of TSR UK’s answer to the American Dragon magazine, almost completely focused on AD&D and D&D, it reprints some articles from the American magazine, but mostly it consists of original material. As we can see from the cover, this issue will take a closer look at the Barbarian class, which is a new thing in the AD&D rules.

The focus on the Barbarian starts off by reprinting Gary Gygax’s article from Dragon where he sets out the class as a preview of future AD&D official publications, in practice giving readers a full new character class they can play with. Imagine adds to this by printing a short adventure by Graeme Morris entitled For the Honour of the Tribe meant to be a test run for Barbarian characters. I’m pretty sure this is the first adventure published to take Barbarians into account as a player character.

Filling out the rest of the issue are the usual columns, a particularly useful one being the ones dedicated to new players “A Beginner’s Guide to Role Playing Games” and “Stirge Corner”, some fun comics and a whole gossip column about the hobby’s movers and shakers, particularly in the UK, Tavern Talk by Pete Tamlyn.
