Another Dragon issue and another great cover, with a return of Tim HIldebrandt to his very characteristic looking Dragons. In this issue Gary Gygax brings us an article on more exotic weapons to be used in AD&D, another preview of upcoming game updates, and two new official creatures for the game, the Planetar and the Solar. Lastly Gygax contributes some information on Raxivort, the god of the Xvarts in his column on the world of Greyhawk.

This issue also brings us a section on the idea of an Assassin’s Guild by Elizabeth Cerritelli and Lynda Bisson (one of the rare contributions by women to the magazine and always good to see). This article develops the idea of Assassin’s Guilds and gives general rules to their behaviour.

We also get a pretty historically significant addition with Ed Greenwood’s Assassin’s Run, following on the theme of Assassins with a little module/setting in the city of Waterdeep in the Forgotten Realms, in what is (from what I know, correct me if I am wrong) the first published Forgotten Realms adventure. It’s basically a solo gauntlet for a Zentharim-like Assassin’s Guild candidate who wants to prove their worth.
