The first D&D computer game faithfully adapts GDQ 1-7 modules… just kidding, it’s just a little guy on an LCD screen trying to avoid falling into a pit and trying to kill a Dragon.

A very simple game, you start off with a grappling hook (on level 1) and that stands for one extra life. So when you fall in a pit you can get out with the hook which is expended. As you move around the very simple and geometrically regular dungeon you can find other grappling hooks. You must pay attention, however, to items flashing in your screen, like a pit, a hook, an arrow or a dragon. When they flash it means they are on an adjacent room and you have to avoid or find them, You want the arrow to kill the dragon and the grappling hooks to get extra lives. You inevitably die by falling in a pit with no grappling hook. You win if you manage to hit the dragon with a previously obtained arrow.

You can find videos of people playing this on YouTube and it seems like something which might amuse you for a while, back in 1981. If you want to buy one they’ve been going for between 200 and 300 dollars on EBay.
