Right from the cover we see a change in the magazine’s design, with the cover now being framed and the text being outside the frame in a block color background, I have mixed feeling about this, because while on the one hand it allows the artwork to not be cluttered with text on the other hand it removes the seamless look that the magazine had before.

Right up front, on page 8, we get the best and longest article in the magazine with an extensive discussion on the topic of the Anti-Paladin with an illustration that looks suspiciously like a Death Knight, namely Lord Soth from the Dragonlance setting that was still 4 years in the future at this time.

Another fascinating article which is still relevant today not only for D&D but for fandom in general, is the article by Jean Wells and Kim Mohan on the position of women in the hobby, challenges they face, as well as discrimination and how things have (or have not changed). Leomund’s Tiny Hut discusses how to start off a campaign and other articles discuss how uniform AD&D is or should be across games, critical hits and misses as well as bunch of magic items, including how to build a cloud castle, in Bazaar of the Bizarre. The Bestiary brings us the Groundsquid, which as you can imagine is a squid that burrows underground.
