A pretty useful little game accessory with some interesting lore content as well, the Rogue’s Gallery is basically an NPC generator. It has sections, tables and randomizers for all kinds of possible NPCs, from all types of classes as well as lvl. 0 commoners, pilgrims, and so on. It even has a way to create caravans. It’s also useful for the creation of henchmen for your characters and hired people like sages, guards for your keep, etc.

This also serves to help create some of the more complex monsters in the game such as liches, Couatl or Kirin. This also gives you tables for the fast creation of parties for PCs, when you just want to jump into a game without bothering to create characters.

Lastly, at the end of the volume there are some really interesting things for all of us into the lore and history of the game with a bunch of character backgrounds and details for characters played by people in TSR, this includes such famous characters as Mordenkainen, Bigby (played by Gary Gygax) or Tenser (Ernie Gygax), all of which survive to this day in the name of D&D spells. Definitely worth tracking this down for that section at least.
