Another slightly pointless set of Character sheets, this time what we get are different sheets one which is more permanent and which is supposed to record character information that doesn’t change much throughout the adventures, such as Attributes, background, class and so forth and to this are added extra sheets with information that is specific to the current adventure.

The general idea is that you could avoid having a messy Character Sheet by having one sheet for set values and another more temporary sheet for things that change a lot throughout the adventure. You’d have a different Adventure Record for each adventure and you would only mess with the Permanent Sheet at the end of the adventure, if needed. You could also just be careful with your sheet, copy your info into a new sheet or just keep info on a notebook and change your character sheet at the end of each adventure… you know… no new product necessary for this really. Still, TSR clearly needed more product output to respond to the ever increasing demand for AD&D, therefore you get the umpteenth version of what are essentially just character sheets. The edition on the picture is from 81, but it looks basically the same as the 79 one.
